OUR JOURNEY
Focus College began as a vision shared by a group of passionate educators in 2012. Acquiring our first premises in Lipton Road, Wynberg, we opened our doors in 2013. The same year, we welcomed students from another independent school that was closing down, ensuring a smooth transition for 95% of the learners who stayed with us through matriculation.
Growth and Expansion
In 2014, two shareholders departed, leaving Mr. C. Petersen and Ms. S. Samsodien-Bhayat at the helm. By early 2015, we secured a serene new location in Belfast Road, Wynberg, close to sports facilities, providing an ideal learning environment. Encouraged by an influential education department official, we expanded our services, opening a second campus in Ysterplaat in 2018. Due to increasing demand, we established a third campus in District Six in January 2020, contributing to the area's revival.

We at Focus College are educating and nurturing learners to become global citizens of honor and self-discipline. Our key to success consists of promoting motivation, focus and discipline. This will enable learners to become independent thinkers and services to their exosystems. OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to help all learners who have not succeeded in traditional secondary schools. We assist them in smaller classes and inclusive education. This in turn alleviates barriers to learning, upliftment of self-confidence and learning integration. Our mission is to help learners develop higher order thinking skills, peacemaking skills and leadership abilities in an environment of shared values of non-violence, equality and unity, by using a combination of the Core Knowledge, CAPS Curriculum and Direct Instruction. Our school strives to be racial and cultural diverse community of learners, parents and staff, dedicated to create a peaceful environment. Each person is treated with unconditional positivity, respect and acceptance. Within such an environment each student will be empowered and inspired to reach his or her full academic, emotional, physical and spiritual potential.
